EDUCATION

 

Studied Mathematics and Physics; Universities of Saarbrücken, Munich, Linz; gained Ph.D. in Systems Theory from the University of Linz, honorary degree in Technology from Brunel University, Uxbridge, UK

 

Experience:

 

In 1961 he started his professional career at the Central Laboratories for Communication Systems at Siemens Munich; Vice President Corporate R&D (ZFE), Systems Technologies, Former President of the German Computer Society, Former Chairman of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and of Bavarian Institute of Software Engineering (FAST).

 

Former member of several scientific boards, e.g. the EECS of Berkeley and the SCS of CMU, Professor of Systems Technology, University of Linz, Austria, and of Computer Science, Technical University of Munich;

 

Research Interests:

 

System Design and Engineering, Technology and Engineering Management, Software and Information Engineering, Technology and Politics.
