EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Graduated in Communications and Radio-Frequency Engineering at the Vienna

University of Technology. Worked in Paris at the École Normale Supérieure.

From 1947 to 1961 he worked as an Assistent at the VUT.

Directed development of

pioneer transistor computer

"Mailuefterl" ( 1956-1960 )

From 1961 to 1976 he

was Director of the IBM Laboratory Vienna. From 1977

to 1985 he was IBM Fellow.

He served as Chairman of the Technical Comitee 2 of IFIP for Programming

Languages, than Vice President and finally IFIP President from 1971 to 1974.

Computing, Communication Engineering, History of Automata and Computers, Abstract Architecture
