EDUCATION

 

Graduated in physics from Vienna University of Technology; 1966 Ph.D.-thesis on X-ray topography of Single Crystals.

 

Experience:

 

1971 visiting research fellow at the Laboratoire de Mineralogie et Cristallographie de l`Universite Paris VI (Laboratory of Prof. H. Curien and A. Authier); 1973 "Habilitation" for "crystal physics" TU-Vienna; 1974 Associate Professor at the TU-Vienna; 1975/76 Professeur Associé, Université Pierre et Madame Curie (Paris VI) - research in the field of electron microscopy and X-ray optics at the synchrontron radiation facility L.U.R.E. (Orsay); Lectures on crystal physics and dynamical diffraction; 1979 Professor for Applied Physics TU-Vienna; Director of the Laboratory of Applied Physics; 1986-1990 Dean of the Faculty of Science TU-Vienna; 1991 Rector of the Vienna University of Technology.
